  1. Read Mark 1:14-15.  Why is the announcement of the Kingdom of Heaven good news?  How could it be misinterpreted as bad news?

 

  1. Read Mark 2:23-29.  How does Jesus re-interpret the Jewish teaching about the Sabbath?

 

  1. Read Mark 9:14-29.  Notice three groups of people here.

(a) What is the main concern of each group?

(b) How does the boy symbolize the human condition?

(c) How does the father show faith in Jesus?  How does he show unbelief?

(d) What does Jesus want to teach the father?

 

  1. Read Mark 10:17-22.  Why does Jesus seem to make the price of being a Christian so high for this man?

    5.  Read Mark 10:35-45. 

(a)    How is Jesus philosophy of life exactly opposite of the world¡¦s philosophy?

(b)   Can a Christian really live in the world this way?

(c)    Why might people think we are ¡§fools for Christ¡¨ (1 Corinthians 4:10) or :out of our minds¡¨ (2 Corinthians 5:13)?
