1. Read Mark 14:43-65.

(a)    What crime was Jesus convicted of?

(b)   Why was it so hard to convict him?

(c)    How was the conviction finally achieved?

 

2. Read Luke 22:63-23:12.

(a)    It seems there were two trials, one before the Jewish authorities and one before the Roman authorities.  Why was it necessary to have two trials?  (See John 18:29-31)

(b)   What finally settled it for Pilate? (See John 19:12)

 

3. Read Isaiah 52:13-53:12.  How many references to Jesus¡¦ crucifixion do you see here?

 

4. Read Mark 15:42-47.  John tells us that someone else came with Joseph of Arimathea to take Jesus¡¦ body.  Who was it?  Where have you met him before?  What do you think was going on in his mind?
